Samantha Chase, Managing Editor

Samantha Chase is a senior at GHS and is in her second year on the Dragon Staff. She serves as the Managing Editor. She is involved in journalism because she loves the day to day challenges because no two days are ever the exact same. Her favorite pieces to write are Entertainment and Opinion. Outside of journalism, she loves hanging out with her friends and is involved in band and speech.

Its less nerve-wracking because you are only in a room with your teammates, Rangel said. It is also nice to not see other performers because you can be fully engrossed in your performance. That was Davisons first year on the team.

Finding Balance: Through the intense volume of music, Andrew Blankenship (21) tries to balance his extracurriculars and school work. Before and after school I spend my time working with my show choir team, Blankenship said. As soon as I get done working with them, I go home, grab a quick snack and then work on my homework until Im ready to go to sleep. He has a busy schedule with before and after school practices and tries hard to balance the stress of it all.

Performing in person at Skutt has its own challenges with masks but I was so grateful for the opportunity to perform in front of an audience again, Langholdt said. Im glad that this was my first competition of my senior year. The OID placed third overall.

The song highlights how united our nation can become with a simple melody. Elizabeth is very appreciative that she gets to share a message that means alot.
