Maria’s is a restaurant that many people forget about on a day-to-day basis. It is a family-owned restaurant that has been around since 1972 . . . but it didn’t open until 1976. Maria’s is located in Ralston. It has served the greater Omaha, Ralston, Papillion, La Vista and Bellevue areas throughout the years.
When it comes to how Maria’s became a place, it started when the owner, Patrick Sanchez, was stationed at Offutt. And the original thing that inspired the restaurant was a food cart.
Maria’s is a great place to go out with your family for dinner, which. I have dgone there many times with my family. On their menu, they have many different things to choose from, although when I go there, I get the same thing. When it comes to making the food, they say that their food is fresh, housemade food, without preservatives or MSG. Along with that, they also offer a custom catering service.
If you ever go to Maria’s, some people would suggest their puffy tacos because that is one of their signature meals. Maclovio “Pat” and Maria Sanchez were the original owners, but now Maria’s grandson, Michael Sanchez, has taken over and been the majority owner since 2008.
Maria’s is also an indoor and outdoor restaurant, with the outdoor seating being heated. Their outdoor seating can fit 50 seated guests or 60 standing guests. They also have a large party room for special events.
Even though this place has delicious and reasonably priced food. It does have some downsides to it. One of those things includes long wait times. This particularly ends up happening on Taco Tuesdays, when a lot of people are there to have dinner. Another downside is their hours, which are very different from other places. Some things that are inconsistent with other restaurants are that it is closed on Mondays and Sundays. Also on Fridays, it is open 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. and 4:30 until 9 p.m. But every other day of the week, it is open only from only 4:30 until 9 p.m.
Maria’s is located at 7630 Burlington Street in Ralston. All in all, I really encourage you to go out and try Maria’s and maybe even get their puffy tacos.
