“Reminders of Him” is a great movie to watch with friends. While it does have some sad parts, there are also parts where you are laughing too. The main characters are Maika Monroe as Kenna, Tyriq Withers as Ledger and Rudy Pankow as Scotty. It’s an emotional, tear-jerking romantic drama.
After watching “Reminder of HIm”, I would say that it is an emotional rollercoaster. It is funny, heartwarming and sad all at the same time. The movie is about not judging people by what they have done. Even if it may seem bad, you should always give them a second chance and should give them a chance to tell their side of the story.
In the movie, Maika Monroe, who plays Kenna, just got out of prison, and she tries to go back to her hometown to try to reconnect with her daughter, who was raised by her boyfriend’s parents after an accident. The reason Kenna went to jail was because of that car accident that she and Scotty were in. They were on a back road that was gravel, under the influence and their vehicle flipped. Scotty’s arm was crushed, and when Kenna went to see if he had a pulse, he didn’t; she thought he was dead, but he actually wasn’t.
Kenna was pregnant at the time, but she didn’t know. So when she went to jail, she was pregnant, and her daughter was taken from her. So when she got out of jail, she tries to gain custody of her daughter, Diem. The only person that knows her side of what had happened was Scotty’s best friend, Ledger.
One of the best parts of the movie was watching Maika’s emotions of hope, guilt and sadness, and how they are so strong throughout the whole movie. The movie shows a good perspective on how it is hard to earn trust back after something terrible happens.
I would strongly recommend this movie to anyone who is yearning for a good emotional romance. It has a very powerful meaning, the meaning staying with you even after the movie.
