On Feb. 11, every school in the Metro conference gathered at Millard West for the biggest swim meet of the season. This event happens two weeks before state, and is seen as the last chance to achieve a qualifying time for some swimmers. Others go into the meet confidently with hopes of placing in the top times in the conference. Only a select few are allowed to swim in the preliminaries from each team, and only the top 16 competitors in each event advanced to finals on Saturday. Seniors Reese Naylon and Julianna Anderson, along with junior Dylan Reagan, sophomore Alex Hallgren and freshman Emma Brophy all returned for finals in individual events. Many other Gretna swimmers returned to swim on relays as well.
