The new year is here, so that means people have new resolutions and things that they want to accomplish. This year, I have made different resolutions both inside and outside of school.
Some of the things I plan to do for school are to take a few deep breaths when I get stressed and to make up for any missed schoolwork to ensure I stay on top of my work. When staying on top of my work, I plan on making sure my attendance is better this semester so I am not as stressed because of the work I am missing while I am gone.
If I am gone during the school week, I am going to email my teachers before I go back to school. So that when I come back, I know what I am missing, and can get my work from my teachers.
Everyone has a goal or something that they want to accomplish, whether it is just for the day or something that can take the whole year to get it done, and those things could be inside or outside of school.
One major thing that I want to not necessarily accomplish is making sure that I am working on myself and helping with my anxiety. Things I do to try and help with it are sitting with my hands on my legs and taking big, deep breaths to lower my heart rate.
Outside of school, one thing I am trying to fix this year is my sleep schedule. This also ties in with making sure that I am caught up on my work, so that when I go home, I am stress-free and don’t have to worry about all of my schoolwork.
Sophomore Berkley Eyman has one major New Year’s resolution, which isn’t just about herself but also about other people.
“My only New Year’s resolution is to be kinder, and not just to myself but to other people,” Eyman said.
