Future Doctors of GHS

Future Doctors of GHS

Although adults do not think so, teenagers begin thinking about their future as early as their freshman year of high school. They prepare for the future by enrolling in classes and joining clubs that will help them in their desired careers. Many tools are offered to students who are looking to work in the medical field. Upperclassmen have access to the Certified Nurse’s Assistant (CNA) Class as well as the Career Academy through Metro Community College. These classes are structured to build the basic foundation needed to work in this field. In addition to this, they offer hands-on experience. Students in all grades can join the HOSA – Future Health Professionals club where they can compete in events relating to the medical field. The medical field offers varied careers. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 1.9 million healthcare occupations will be available in the next 10 years. These opportunities help students to thoroughly prepare for their careers.
