Caitlyn Cheleen, Reporter

Caitlyn Cheleen is a senior at GHS and this is her second year on the Gretna Media staff. She serves as a reporter. Her greatest achievement last year was winning an award for an editorial she wrote. She is interested in journalism because she likes how involved it has made her in the school. She also hopes to create the first magazine. Outside of school she participates in powerlifting. A few fun facts about her is that she loves dogs and tacos are her favorite food.

Several changes will be implemented in the overall look of GHS, but the most notable of them are the new desks and chairs that will replace various tables and desk currently existing in classrooms. This desk and chair set is an example of what GEHS currently has within their classrooms.

Many schools that have chosen to do away with valedictorians at graduation have often done so because they believe that it focuses only on the student with the highest GPA. They also believe that it is not an accurate representation of the highest-achieving students within their school, as many students drop classes like band and choir for classes that will raise their GPA. With our solution, the selected valedictorian will be chosen from additional criteria, making the student more diverse and engaged in all aspects of their high school.
